The theme for Saturday is “Country Rock ‘n’ Tacos” and will feature unique tacos and classic sliders with incredible Wagyu beef provided by Hassell Cattle. Other partnerships will include top-shelf WhistlePig whiskey, the finest wine from 1912 Winery and the top Anheuser-Busch products.
Participating chefs include Derek Upton, who is known for his work with Chef Justin Beckett and celebrity client lists, David Duarte, who previously worked in Michelin-starred Ristorante II Buco in Sorrento, Italy, and Josh Dae, a professional BBQ competitor. Chef Christie Vanover, editor and publisher of Girls Can Grill, and Kita Roberts, known as Girl Carnivore, will also participate in the team of chefs for Sunset Sessions.
“Partnering with the best collector car auction company in the world and creating this exclusive culinary and music event is a can’t-miss opportunity for the Phoenix area community,” said Jim Freudenberg, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at the Innovative Group, which is partnering with Mecum Auctions to produce this new event. “We are bringing the world’s top culinary event to the Valley of the Sun and providing the finest unlimited menu of food, libations and music.”
“Last year’s auction at State Farm Stadium was the most successful first-year event on record for Mecum,” Mecum Auctions Vice President of Marketing and Presentation Sam Murtaugh said. “So, when the opportunity to partner with the experienced team at Innovative Group to bring a top-notch food and music festival to the great City of Glendale in conjunction with our auction came up, it made perfect sense to add this experience as one more way to make this year’s event even better than the last.”
